Mohamed Al Hammad, has stressed the carefulness to obtain the sleek
work inside the port, passing all the causes of the lack of importing,
stressing that the decrease in imports is due to the lack of demands of
suppliers traders themselves for shipping companies to receive goods from
Jubail port, which allows them to take advantage of nearness factor and
the lowering of transportation costs from any other port. Hammad
pointed, during the monthly Tuesday meeting, which was held at the
evening of Tuesday, April 12 th, in
Asharqia Chamber branch in Al Jubail province, to the possibility of
requesting exemption from customs duties in case the reason for the delay is
the inspection procedures, which take place without disrupting in case the
papers are completed, noting to the right of the importer in not being able to
open the equipment to request the use of an expert or opening it at
the factory location and the customs does not refuse that when
there is a reason, and that is to void the cancellation of the warranty
or the manufacturer or supplier responsibility. He explained that the cargo fee
is determined by the customs constraint on by the General Administration
of Customs, adding that the fees are exempt by the Gulf countries and the Arab
countries in order to encourage exports and imports in the region.
He noted, that in the case of the of goods being more than 60 days in the
harbor, first the communication is with the importer to solve it, or move them
to left goods, calling businessmen to look at the customs systems and
communicating with the Savior to speedup finishing the procedures in the right
way.
Hammad reminded that, the General Administration of Customs adopts the
principle of training and awareness, to deepen the relationship with the
institutions, and has a big number of custom courses, and there is no reason
not to holding it in the headquarters of Asharqia Chamber branch in the
province of Al Jubail, in coordination with the Customs Management Institution.
The head of Asharqia Chamber business council in Jubail branch,
Mishari Al Aqaili, has urged during the meeting to increase cooperation
between the businessmen and the Department of Customs of Jubail,
showing the extent of businessmen's desire to know the legal procedures
of importing, and the reasons of the lack of trips to the port of Jubail.
